This is the type of answer and well as the type of question that tends to justify the response: why don't you google and research it yourself?
You'll likely need to download and install the current D7100 firmware updates to enable the AF-P lens. But, the lens is listed as compatible with only a minor bit of initiative and investigation to find a compatibility chart from B&H. A more definitive response can be obtained directly from the Nikon site, much more definitive than B&H and / or the UHH crowd ...
Nikon has a lens compatibility chart that says that AF-P Lenses have “limited compatibility” with the D7100. In the footnote, it explains that your camera “May require a firmware update.”
"...You'll likely need to download and install the current D7100 firmware updates to enable the AF-P lens..."
Yep, that optic works stellar on my D7100 with Firmware Versions C: 1.04 & L 2.017
Here's the Link to Nikon's download center
https://downloadcenter.nikonimglib.com/en/download/fw/264.htmlbtw, please be certain that you have a adequately charged battery before you start the update process... If your Camera loses power it will need to take a trip back to Nikon to fix the the corrupted operating system...

And now for another opinion, I thought far from being stellar, his first paragraph was rather sarcastic, and condescending, uncalled for, and it did not add to the discussion whatsoever. (I will concede his 2nd paragraph was useful.)

I have the very same, yes they will. I will add, there are some great bargain prices on this version (I have the VR). I don't know if a lot of folks traded in the kit lenses, or they simply made a ton of them, but besides Ebay, all of the big resellers have excellent copies for cheap (some well under $100, with VR), I picked up a refurb for $125, delivered, a couple months back. It focuses fast, and takes a sharp photo, no complaints. The 70-300 AF-P 4.5-5.6 VR is even better, but much more costly. MPB/Roberts UsedPhotoPro and the others have great prices on them. I don't remember exactly, but I think I had to adjust the "Distortion Control" setting or somesuch, and you can't turn on/off VR, but that has not caused any missed shots or issues so far (I generally shoot hand held with lenses 300 mm and below, I've done very little tripod work with it). I like the results, as good as, maybe better than my 70-300 AF-S VR, but have not done a side by side comparo. I would not pay more than $150 tops, there are simply to many bargain offerings on this fine little lens.

According to Nikon that lens has a limited compatibility.
May require a firmware update.
Call Nikon for sure, 1-800-645-6687.
Nikon tells their customers which camera bodies are compatible with such a lens.
