Will this replace a DSLR/mirrorless today, especially at the professional/artist level - likely not, but it will give some capabilities not found in cameras today.

Think about the mass market - whom is not carrying around multiple bodies/lenses where ever they go, and wants a quick memory, picture for a record, or something for social media. Will they be good enough for that. Absolutely! Will they eat through the lower end of the point&shoot range by increasing quality, better low light capability, and convenience in a device that (all respect to Bill) most people carry with them near 100% of the time. Absolutely!

Remember, just as a FF DSLR with 8 lenses might not be right for an average tourist in London, this may not, at this time, replace for the artists/professionals. There will always be a need for focused equipment, but the volume will shrink and it will turn into more of a niche (see Kodak!)

Yes, and it is easier to justify upgrading something you already know you will use and can see the benefits for using.

What are the pics like printed to A4?

I would expect them to be decent, but canโ€™t say for sure at this point.

I'm sorry but this is just not an incentive. I have more lenses for any of my cameras. My only reason for having an iPhone is for the use of an exposure/processing program. Since I carry a camera with me 95% of the time, the phone is not the first thing I think of when I want to take a photograph.

Bob, It looks like you are all set then!

Man, doesn't it hurt when you sit with the 52mm extending in your back pocket? That's 2 inches!

Seriously though, what do they mean by 52mm? Can't be the real focal length.

It means it gives a field of view similar to a 52mm lens on a 35mm format camera(such as a full frame DSLR).

I'm wondering if you know what the actual focal length is? Sensor size? Crop factor? Thinking diffraction has to be a factor as the limits are pushed.

Phone cameras usually have a crop factor of 7x. My iPhone 7 has an actual focal length of 3.99 mm; this gives it a full frame equivalent focal length of about 28mm per the How-to Geek website I looked at. The telephoto crop factor may be different.

Apparently each camera has a typical small sensor of 1 x 2.5โ€ or close to it.

I will look forward to reviews of actual photos on how these lenses perform.

I'm using an 8+. I also use a Moment 18mm lens and for giggles, I occasionally use the Moment Super Fish lens. Won't be upgrading to the newer phones.

Just another Tool in the box for me . Not the first thing I grab when I want to photograph something but certainly a possible back-up device in a pinch I suppose.

You didn't mention any model numbers or prices for these 3 items. What do they cost in comparison to a lesser I-phone or a plain ordinary flip-phone? I would guess that they approach the cost of a bridge camera or a point & shoot version on today's market.

They certainly lighten the load and take up virtually no space in that regard. I wouldn't take an expensive phone abroad when I can buy a $10 throw-away in country when I arrive .....use it and lose it when I leave. Smart travelers don't carry any more than is necessary on any given day when they are faced with long walks in strange places and they do try to lighten their loads . An adequate phone and a pocket camera with adjustable focal length is all one needs. What he or she spends to achieve that is another issue and none of my concerns.
