Interesting, so many potential stories. An excellent selection for this section, I think.

Thank you! The Queens Street station is undergoing modernization - it's a total mess right now - I hope it doesn't turn out to be an urban redevelopment disaster!

This is a great pic. So many things could be said. What was the story to you when you took the photo?

I was interested in the two strangers on either side of the plywood barrier - the small portion showing the station with the workmen gave it context.

I wonder what a portrait orientation cropped to include the man and woman only would look like? The colorful people on the right seem a little distracting. It might be interesting with the man and woman "around the corner" from one another, lost in their own worlds. Or not... Great shot - well done!

Here it is cropped and in classic street B&W - it has a totally different feel with the two subjects isolated from each other in their own private worlds.

My eyes went there immediately. My thought that was the real story.

Hats off for the cropped one. Great shot. The mood is, as you say, totally different, but focused. Because of the reduced context, it's more universal. Glasgow or Cleveland, it doesn't matter--it's the isolation that becomes important. (The first one didn't do much for me, but I love the second one.)

It would probably work OK in color, as the scene is almost monochrome, but the B&W does add a bit more to the mood.
