I got away from the beauty of the rock formations and found the beauty of the creek and meadow.

Nikon D750 w/28-300 lens.

Nice. Have you see Oak Creek as it goes through the slick rock? Beautiful.

No. Although I would love to, I’m somewhat limited on how far I can hike because of my health.

That's too bad. I first saw it when I was going to High School in Flagstaff in the early 70's. We used to skip school in Senior class and go down there and ride the current through the slick rock. Great fun and absolutely beautiful. Especially in the Fall. Then the crystal gazers and the vortex worshipers started showing up. All good things must come to an end.

Do you mean “Slide Rock?” Beautiful there, isn’t it?

I assumed that’s what he meant, and yes it is.

No, I mean slick rock. Polished sandstone. It's not a place, it's a substance. Very slick when wet.

Well...kinda sorta. Further up stream (were you above or below the town of Sedona?) there are places where the creek runs through solid rock, almost like a slot canyon and the sandstone is very smooth and slick from being wet. The water is from a few inches to a few feet deep. Too slick to walk safely, you just go with the flow between the narrow walls swimming through the pools and sliding through the shallows.

No, I wasn’t where you’re describing. I was south of Sedona.

Nice captures. no. 2 has my vote. I like the serenity of the transition from the grass the mountain ridgeline.

Thank you. That’s my wife’s favorite, also.
