Thanks for any advice

I have Elements 9 that I use all the time; last week I watched a live 3-day webinar showcasing CS6, and if I had the money I'd jump all over that deal in a heartbeat! The curves function is superb!!

If you find PSE 10 confusing then you should consider that Photoshop is PSE 10 on steroids. Your choice though it is a great price and there are a lot of tutorials so you should be able to learn to use what you want in it.

Oh yes, I should have mentioned that I learned photo editing on the ancient Photoshop 7, long before any of the CS's, so Elements 9 is a breeze to me; but I agree with with jimni - CS6 will be much more intimidating than Elements. I suggest either googling whatever you'd like to try in Elements, or watching youtube videos on it.

I'm new to photography and and BRAND new to digital processing with computer software. I just took my first class and it was a Photoshop photography class for beginners. I purchased CS6 from the collegee bookstore for $200. This class only scratched the surface of the program and I am still not comfortable with it. I will definately be taking another class to learn more. Good luck with your choices.

I agree with jimni2001... If PSE 10 confuses you, CS6 will render you completely helpless. No amount of money is worth this. Save your money and keep using LR4.

For much less you can get the full TopazLabs Bundle which is easy to use and very versitile. MUCH easer to use than PS. Works with Lightroom, also has a stand alone base which will also use other Plugins. You can get a discount for watching one of their webinars. Also you can down load the pack and try for 30 days. Seriously it works Magic. Do UHH search for Topaz.

Hi MikeM, Suggest you consider Photoshop Elements 10 from Amazon as this manual covers most of the information you may need. NevilleM

Between the aftermarket manuals, the YouTube & Adobe tutorials, you can spend a helluvalot less than $299 and learn PSE 10 inside & out.

You are not going to get the complete Topaz Bundle for much less than $299 even with the discount.

If your wallet can stand it you should go for this offer. But remember that you are still going to have a learning curve, but you will be set up for future upgrades to new releases at the upgrade price. Just remember that after the end of December you will only be able to upgrade to the previous version. That means that if you have PS6 you will be able to upgrade to PS7 when it comes out late next year, but you can't wait for CS8 and upgrade from CS6.
