While at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas, CA, I feel lucky to capture the elusive "green flash" on the horizon. It's kinda funny, some people say "I see that all the time", while others say that they have never seen it. Taken with Sony RX10M4. Thanks for looking.

According to Wikipedia... "The green flash and green ray are meteorological optical phenomena that sometimes occur transiently around the moment of sunset or sunrise. When the conditions are right, a distinct green spot is briefly visible above the upper rim of the Sun's disk; the green appearance usually lasts for no more than two seconds".

See them whenever the air is clear and we can see a clear, hard horizon line as the sun sets. Have caught several images over the years. Love to watch for them!

I’ve seen it (once from an airplane, traveling toward it, which prolonged it), but never captured it. One doesn’t get many chances at this. Well done!

Oh my! This is great! A friend and I were at Torrey Pines beach last week for sunset photography, and actually we were discussing this! Of course, we weren’t lucky enough to see this phenomenon.
