It's time I really push to get my modification of my dec motor housing , I thing that's what's lagging when running . I haven't been able to autoguide for the past 4 times out. This has some image shift , I don't think something is pulling its weight in my setup. Processing should be done with the wave of a "Wand" , it takes so much out of me to do it to tweak out all the detail that I can.

Are you using PS to process? If so, Check out http://www.deepskycolors.com/archivo/2010/04/26/hasta-La-Vista-Green.html

It’s free, or donation only. I use this a lot, it really improves the color.

Looks really good Ronnie.
A great deal of improvement from the last year.

I would suggest you try and find medium between the two images, brightness wise.
The focus and tracking are great.

It's definitely better than last years follies, it's all in learning how to play the game with a mount that keeps breaking my spirit . I keep on plugging away Sonny , thanks for the encouragement .

I think every night has some new learning, or at least something new to try.
I was doing 2 or 3 star alignments and doing OK. Then the night before last I did the old 6 star alignment.
It was working good, too. Then the clouds showed up... Poop!

I was running on the Eagle and Heart nebula and though my autoguiding isn't back all the way . I did manage a lil' of this and a lil' of that and wrapped up around 3am est. I made several trips out to the mount just to make sure everything was OK and I wasn't running into the mount , the dec motor needed tweaking at first but, then it was good to go and the ra was slacking the rest of the night. All in all it was a glorious night without a cloud cover. It sounds to me like if it ain't broke don't fix it Sonny, I would stay the course doing the 6 star alignment. I run a max of 3 and if its the same in the 1st 2 alignments then I still run the 3rd for S&G {Can't hurt}.

I always did do the 6; the two star and then the 4 alignment. But wanted to see if I was being too anal. (I know I can be...)
But the added stars do help me to see the telescope is landing on the objects. Usually Stars 3 and 4 of the last ones are really close to centered.
Anyway, just gives me confidence I've done my part.
I always have to do some final centering to appease myself for my picturds. Then start or restart the guiding.
Usually, I try to choose objects in the same area, and not frog around over the meridians.

Anyway, you are really showing MUCH improved!
I hope you get lots of clear skies going into Fall, and that Winter isn't too harsh and cold.
Thanks To You, I have remote control. So I can avoid Mosquitoes, or the cold of California winters. (Hey, 60 degrees here is freezing!)

Clear Skies!

I just was passing on what I learned and it does get annoying having to go out to the handpad and adjust things but, its sure nice staying away from the skeeters table . I still have issues with my lxd55 but, it just has to hold it together for my sake. Begging Alanna and pleading does payoff , just no immediate gradification when my money pit is involved.

A lot of times my processing skills {suck} and hinder my efforts somewhat , although all my images are a work in progress. I do enjoy the capturing of something that I can't see with the naked eye. I also enjoy the combination of colors as I see what will look the best, personal preference. I do a fair amount of 1 color but, that's just a start Marc. processing is a lifelong journey in my case.
