I was not talking about a short term fluctuation. That was 12 months! A whole year!
And the one who is claiming the great growth is ... TRUMP!

Let's see according to rumor he inherited as much as $413 million. He went up, down and sideways in his businesses for decades and is now worth $3.1 billion. That is aprx 7.5x what he inherited, yep, an abysmal failure! Many of the world's richest people had histories of failure etc before becoming so wealthy by the end of their life.

To get back on topic, Canikon certainly didn't try hard enough with MILC over the last decade - which was a mistake in itself. I am sure they are now regretting it and will continue to do so.

I would say that it is more they had a good thing going and the MILC market wasn't enough to divert resources, now it is.

What do you want to bet they will make up lost ground at a tremendous rate? They, esp Canon, have the resources to throw at it.

Well yes - both have probably got dissected Olympus and Panasonics, Sony and Fujis all over their R&D benches. But I suppose that's the name of the game. Just as Ford are a big customer of GM.

In 1982 the DOW was at around 2,000. It is now at 26,000 that is 13x, So thank you for proving his abysmal failure.

I don't see it that way at all. Five years ago - back when I was a Canon user - the EOS-M was dreadful; when I changed cameras, I included it in my spreadsheet ... but only because I thought I should.

But Canon persisted.

Today, cameras like the EOS-M50 are doing just fine, and allowed Canon to dominate the ‘home market’ even before the EOS-R series was released.

But it is not Canon's mirrorless that is dominating any market.

But they are dominating in overall share of the ILC market and that share has grown. There appears to be no reason to think that will not continue.

Thank you for confirming that California isn't the only school system that is failing.

I didn't know that - I should have looked further afield. But now I do know. Well done Canon.

Peace, let's let the hassle drop. I am in a stressed mood - looking for a car for my wife and she is a perfectionist - has me going out all over to look - In the last 10 days we have spent more time looking than I spent total on all the cars (10 total) I have bought for myself or the family since the 1960s.

Oh, I didn't go through only CA schools only 10th and 11th grade and my last two years of college plus grad level classes. But I taught in LA from back in the early 70s when they were still among the best to 2007 when they were way down.
The last half of my career at the junior and senior high school levels I had to use 1/3 of my class time teaching makeup reading, how to study, how to use a text book, how to take notes etc. Any history, geography or government they picked up seemed like a bonus. We had some feeder schools that couldn't teach kids to fall down, let along read and study.
Actually I found that 1/3 of the students were doing great, 1/3 doing OK-just wanted to get done and get a job, it was the other 1/3 that stressed me out to the point it had me sick all the time. I had hit the max for retirement etc so my wife spent 6 months talking me into retiring.
One day in early April I got sick on the way to work, felt awful, walked into the office and saw the Principal "I am retiring the last day of this semester!" - the Principal turned to the office manager "Put the papers in his mail box ASAP."
I told all my students and the next day a committee of students came to me during morning Nutrition and informed me that on the last day of school they were giving me an all day retirement party. "Don't try to tell us parties aren't allowed, we aren't listening!" By the end of the day I was feeling better.
I had my students do their finals the week before school ended, some of them helped me with the end of year paperwork and even ran my retirement papers around to get the signatures needed.
The last day was an all day potluck pig out and party with teachers dropping by also (7 teachers on staff were former students of mine). Then a group of students stayed, cleaned the room, helped me pack all my stuff in my van. Packed a box of cake and stuff for my family then waved good bye as I pulled out and they headed for the picnic tables in the school court yard to eat the rest of the left overs.
Even the LA traffic was cooperating - speed limit all the way home with me playing upbeat music on the stereo and singing along all the way.

Just remembering this has made me feel great.
You have a good rest of the day.
