Palo Verde vs Green Valley

Game started out sunny. I shot again with the 200-500 5.6 vr. All went fine until the clouds came over the field in the second half. Focus slowed down quite a bit but still managed some good shots. Not a lens for cloudy days.
Last shot not to bad but I wouldn't go much higher with the iso. Just my opinion.

Hey Jules,

Awesome, I like em all....#2 is really a eye popper.

Great action, angles with all the guys in action.

I found out today our Local High School will resume their football season Friday evening. Action has been in question until the Hurricane Dorian decided to move to the North along our coast of Florida.

Praying that I am going to be able to feel like wobbling out to the game. Weather forecast looks great for Friday evening a lull in our Florida Monsoon Season.

Thanks for sharing.

Tom

Hi friend, you are right on. These are great, which I expect out of you. Keep it up! I was out for a little yesterday and the heat is killing me this year. I will be glad when it cools off some. I am only 68 but the weather gets to me much more than it used too. Not sure when I will get out for my first shoot with D7000 and 200-500mm f/5.6 . My D810 should be at Nikon California Friday for estimate on repairs. Hoping they don't take very long, the new lens shot really well with my D800 and expect it to be even better with the D810. Have been busy with my Parks shoot trying to get it finished and collect my money. Thanks

Tom

It’s funny how our personal tolerances are influenced by our shooting habits. I shoot lots of dance - indoor, dark, and high speed - so my iso acceptable range is many stops above yours. That last pic is about where I start, using my 70-200 2.8, some of them grainy to a point that I bet you’d throw out, but parents are happy to have anything because a cell phone can’t get a picture.

Sounds good Tom, stay with the parks until your equipment is repaired.
The heat is a bear I will tell ya. Be careful.

Hi Wakko12:
I shoot for Maxpreps which is a division of CBS Sports for high school sports. They are very strict when it comes to iso and grain. They look at every shot at 100% before they approve it for sale. I guess I am so aware of that fact.

Jules, hear what you are saying about MaxPreps/CBS being very picky about ISO & noise but I would think the last shot would pass muster. I can read the team name on the black versey and it looks fine blown up on my screen. I see no noise/grain. Maybe these eyes are just getting old.

Hi Don:
I guess the point I was trying to say is that your right the iso at 1250 for that shot is just fine, but something in the area of 2000 and above I would hesitate.
Thanks for looking.
