I heard they can run for short bursts up to 30mph! It is the reason that although I live fulltime in a motorhome and have for 12 years...I have never been to Florida...12' alligators and 16' long pythons are not on my bucket list!

I thought one big difference between Alligators and Crocodiles was that Alligators are less aggressive to Humans. Not willing to try and prove it, but I'm sure I picked that up on a programme about Crocodillia.
