Right on the edge of micro. Very well done shot.
Very impressive and extraordinary. I would like to say more (besides Wow) but the words escape me.
Thank you all for your comments/compliments. Much appreciated. As has been the case with macro/stacking for me several times before, I came away from this one with a feeling of confidence that I had finally managed to control all the variables and that all I needed to do was to apply the formula to my next attempt. Not so. I had a very dissatisfying result, demonstrating the sensitivity of the process to minute variations in configuration of the various contributing elements. A discouraging fup really the last one. I suppose it's like golf. The golfers are drawn back to the course by the relatively few good drives/puts they managed in the past. Macro is an unforgiving thing. Best of luck y'all in the pursuit for the perfectly exposed and focused mandible. Someone asked what the stepsize was - 10 micron, i.e. 1/100th of a mm. It's Calliphora Vicina (I think), i.e. bottle fly.
An incredible image!! (Just wouldn't want to have to connect the dots!)
Johann! Excellent, buddy.

Much appreciated Douglas.
Wonderful Lighting. Can I ask the diffuser material??
@martinfisherphoto Certainly. EPE foam.
Thanks. Interesting, when I first started developing my diffuser of choice the specific foam I used gave poor results. It blew out the whites and the reflective metallic areas of the jumpers I was shooting. That said I only tried one type, it had a clear appearance. I should have tried at least the whited types and different densities. Wonderful light, will have to try the material again.. Thank-You.....
