After bottling peaches on Saturday, I decided in the wee hours to take a few photos before putting them away. Thought it might be fun to play with different angles, although I'm sure a lot more could be done with such a subject and these are not set up perfectly by any means (electrical cord, juice level a bit low for county fair standards, etc.). :-P Nothing fancy. Lately I'm usually grabbing a Panasonic Lumix G85. At the time it had the 12-60mm lens on it.

I haven't edited these at all except to slightly crop one. Anyway... they are mostly for fun ... if anyone else is like me and thinks bottled peaches are pretty, I hope they give you a smile. <3

Beautiful! Are these the spiced kind or plain? Looks like you used the wide mouth jars for these.
The only canning I did this year was tomatoes. I had my first jar to spoil in all the years I've been canning. We didn't get to an orchard this year so we couldn't find any peaches firm enough for canning.
Don't you just love the feeling of saving your own food for future use.

Uh Oh ! Now you have done it. I'm headed down to the bakery store for a slice of Peach Cobbler. Then I'm going to take a scoop of vanilla ice cream with some raspberry jelly in it and cover it with a peach half. If that cure my sweet tooth, I don't know what will!

Thanks! :-) These are just plain in light syrup ... Elbertas (my favorite for canning). When I was younger, I'd bottle anything I could lay my hands on (six children on a tight budget). Now peaches are pretty much the only thing I do ... and grape juice if we get enough off our vines. I do prefer wide mouth jars for peach halves ... yes. :-)

You made me laugh with that one. :-D Before I started bottling, I used the larger peaches for peach crisp ... and we glutted ourselves on three of those this past week. :-P Terrible, I know... but it's only once a year.

You must have grown up with "Peach Melba" ... is that the one with raspberries? I love them just plain or in crisp (oatmeal, flour, butter and sugar for topping and a light dose of sugar, cinnamon and fresh grated tossed with the peeled, cut peaches). Now I'm making myself hungry ... no more peach crisp in the house. They are all gone but one that my husband will eat later.

Thank you! It was kind of fun and I do think they are really pretty ... with the reflections on the glass and the brilliant, freshly bottled fruit. It's amazing how much they fade even in one year (noticed when putting them away next to what's left from last season).

Thank you! Probably not the usual, but my first post on here. There probably won't be too many food posts later.

Welcome to the forum.

Thank you! I thought I'd get brave and start with what was going on at the moment. I'm not in the same league as the serious people on here using full frame cameras (although I did buy an old Canon 5D to play with). Lately, I'm mostly using the micro four thirds ... I love how light it is. Not the amazing high quality of the others (or the degree of talent many in this forum display), but a person can get some pretty nice pictures from some of the smaller cameras.

Are you kidding me?
My daughter takes some many pictures of her food, they belong in a cook book.
What is really sad is that I would eat the cookbook page by page!
