Dorian has slowed down. Everyone has their preparations ready, and now noting to do but wait. So - it is the weekend, and there is a nice breeze, and the ocean water is prefect, so time to head to the beach!
We like the beach at Patrick Air Force Base - there are no apartments, hotels, or condos anywhere nearby, so the beach here - which is several miles long - has very few people on it almost always.
PAFB supports many different missions of the Air Force, the Department of State, the DEA, etc. It also plays a critical role in range management when rockets are being fired. Not sure exactly what this large antenna is used for, but it mostly seems like it is being used when there are launches. Notice that in preparation for the storm the antenna is positioned so as not to catch the wind.
Photos taken with my Canon G9X mk II, a great little pocket camera.
I am very glad to hear that Dorian has slowed down. I hope she slows down enough to fizzle out and cause no damage to anyone or anything.
Magnificent images makes me sad that I am not there?
Good luck with Dorian and I like the fact that you have the beach almost to yourself. vz
