ID of a small purple/pink flower

I saw this flower which is about 1/2" in length and it grows in shady area near a lake in Nashville TN. The pic was taken on Aug 30 '19.

I don't have direct experience with this one, but definitely a picture match to Desmodium paniculatum, panicked tickclover, aka narrow leaf tick trefoil. 3 feet tall.

Thank you blearier for your info. Upon further reading on this subject I discovered more pix . I am now convinced that it is as all of you suggested DesmodiumPaniculatum. Thank you all for your help. I think it is a small but very attractive wild flower. Shang
