On a recent trip to visit my son, I took this photo of Buckingham fountain in Chicago. My son loves the photo and wants a print of it.

I, however, am not real fond of the picture. I wonder if I could do some post processing which would make me like it better. I have PSE10 which I am learning.

Can some of you give me some ideas of what I could do in PSE10 to make it better?

Take the tilt out first. Maybe dull it down a tad. Otherwise it's nice.

If I'm not mistaken this is the same fountain in either Bryan Peterson or Scott Kelby book/s, if you have a copy check out how the masters handled it. Still a real nice shot IMO. Sarge is right fix the tilt.

I played a little with this photo in Lightroom. There wasn't too much to do to it. A little straightening, sharpening and a tad lighter. It's a nice photo...other than straightening, I don't really think it needs much.

Other than the slight tilt that others have pointed out, I personally think it is a gorgeous photo and I wouldn't do anything else to it! I can understand why your son likes it so much!   :-) :-)

I can't help you with PSE 10 as I don't use it. I did do some straightening of buildings. What surprised me is the fountain in the original picture is level. I did a couple of filter edits in OnOne Software Effects to brighten up the image slightly.

I had noticed the tilt and when my son saw it, it was fixed. I had the same problem as a later poster mentioned. It seemed the fountain was straight but not the skyline. Did you just straighten the entire photo?

Thanks, it already looks better.

Not sure what bothers you about the photo, so I tried various adjustments

I am not sure either. That is one reason why I couldn't figure out what to work on.

Thank you for your adjustment!

I like the crop too but why do the buildings look like they are leaning in?
