Have you ever wondered how strong those rather thin loops are on camera straps for smaller cameras?
Straps that come with compact cameras like the SONY RX camera's.
I like a long strap which can't be purchased, so I combine two of them to make a long strap.
Like below.
So I tested the loops I cut off the strap and hung weight on them.
45 lbs for three days.
Then I put on another 10.
At 55 lbs the loop separated from the web strap.
The loop didn't break. It pulled out from the nylon block that connects the loop to the web.
I'm impressed.

Strong enough to jerk you along with it when a motorcyclist grabs it and speeds away.
I've had those straps for years and they work for small gear, and are entirely useful.
