If I have Elements 2018 on my laptop and want to get Elements 2019 do I have to delete 2018 before installing 2019?

I doubt it. I still have Elements 14 on my system with 2019.
My 2019 is in its own system directory, 14 in another.
If 2019 by some strange reason, wants to install to the same directory, which I doubt, it should overwrite the old one.

Photoshop Elements 2020 will probably be released in a month or two, if that matters to you and you can wait. 2019 was first on Amazon Oct 3 last year.

Probably not a whole lot, but some. They update the current year Elements and the Elements ACR during the year up until the next years products are released, then what you have is what you get. I got I think 3 updates to ACR during the first year I owned Elements 2018.And a few just general updates as well. So you stay current a little longer than buying at end of their product year.

Did you have any issues with 2019 using your original Catalogue? Did you have to run Restore Catalogue and point it to your Elements 14 Catalogue?

Sorry, I don't use a cataloger.
Windows Explorer is my catalog.

No, you do not have to uninstall the older version(s) of Elements. I teach Elements in our club and have to keep older versions on my PC to answer former students' questions. I have 5 versions of Elements on my PC and each one runs perfectly without any problems.

I thought that would be the case.

Deactivate on current computerIF you plan to install a given version on another computer. You are limited to 2 machines . Otherwise, you can run more than one on the same computer. I have 9 and 11 on mine and prefer 9.

I have 11 and 15 on mine. I was looking for an edit on 15 that I later discovered was dropped on 15. This is one reason for keeping them if you are not an instructor.
