Ok here goes. My best photo for 2019 may not be taken yet but I am going to send one anyway. Remember the eye of the beholder syndrome. The plant is snakeroot or black cohosh. I refer to this as candles in the woods and it is a plant that a photo never seems to to measure up to the what I see in actuality.
Nicely framed and I like the dark background. Good nominee for your 'pic of the year.'
I have a patch of snakeroot plants and find the main challenge to be getting the tiny blossoms clear and sharp even with my 30 mm macro lens. Their stalks are thin and strong and always stay up over winter so I get a winter display.
