Sounds good, and the pricing isn't bad.

The 90D is pretty damn impressive in terms of specs, but the new RF lenses are a bit pricey compared to their EF “L” series counterparts. (The EF 24-70 f2.8 is $1699 and the RF is $2299)
My wife has been showing interest in photography for a while. Now when we go photograph something she grabs my favorite camera and lens. Think I'm buying her the 90D for Christmas.

And if she doesn’t take to it, you’ll have another nice body (that was my plan when I bought my wife a Fuji 😸).

How did that work for you?

Well, I have a Fuji now (which I really like for a travel camera), but I am sorry I haven’t been able to convince my wife to learn it. She has a good eye but is satisfied with her iphone most of the time. She is talking about Macro, so if I’m willing to invest in one of Fuji’s excellent Macro lenses (like the new 80mm), maybe I can capture her interest. If not, I’m going to trade the X-E2 for an X-T2.
I have an 80D and it's an awesome camera. I'm thinking of selling it and getting the 90D; with the faster shutter speed it would be great for bird photography!

I am on my fourth Canon in twenty years and have yet to have any trouble whatsoever with them. Quite a record.

I agree. I've had five and never had an issue with any of them. The two Rebels I had are still going strong with my granddaughters.
I have a 5D Mark IV but I like the cropped sensor and I've had really good results with my 80D. Takes my 150-600 lens even closer!
That was my plan when I bought my wife.

It's a crop sensor, not a magnification sensor. It does not take your 150-600 any closer.

I'm glad to hear that, I went through two Rebels in seven years ,,,, each apparently died of processor issues.
