This was my first time working with children and im still new at photographing people. I am looking for any insight and advice that could have made the photos better. All advice is welcomed. The equipment used was a Canon 6D Markii, Canon 50mm F1.8 lens, and a Godox speedlight mounted on a stand with a Godox Remote.
Here are a few examples to look through

Not much you can do about the facial expressions, they're kids!
But as to posing, I think you might want to keep a closer eye on that:
In the fourth picture, it looks like the boy is trying to look down the neck opening of the girl's dress.
In the fifth picture, the hands should not be down at the crotch, maybe have her put them beside her on the seat, or even behind her so she's leaning back a bit.
The two final pictures (or three, if you count the duplicate :-) ) are adorable!

Thank you very much for your insight. Those were things I didn’t even recongnize and will keep a closer watch for. After doing these photos for a friend they showed some of their friends and gave them one of my cards and now I’m booked for the next couple weekends and the first two weeks after thanksgiving for Christmas photos. I did these free because they are friends but will have to come up with some kind of pricing. Can’t do everyone for free..

Thank you for you advice I am currently shopping for books as we speak since I enjoyed this shoot so much I figure why not try more. I shot these for free for a friend and they showed them to some others and handed out business cards for me and now I’m booked for the next couple weekends and the first two weeks after thanksgiving for Christmas photos. Now I just need to figure out a pricing. Even though I really enjoyed this shoot I can’t do everyone for free..
