I have an upcoming camera club competition and the style is abstract. I can enter both a color and B&W. Which of these do you think works better the color or B&W? Would you consider this an abstract? Your help would be much appreciated.

My preference is for the colour version, and I feel they are abstract, and good.

Thank you Richard. I was hoping that was the case but I didn't want to rule out the b&w if it was stronger. I still have a lot to learn there.

There's not a lot to work with and the colour edition is not so far short of monochrome anyway.
Stick with the colour edition.

Seems once again I am going against the flow. I prefer the B/W one. As for it being abstract enough I never got the feeling that it was an abstract.
Good luck with which ever one you submit

I’m a b&w fan, but the color version wins here.

While the B/W is quite good, it just doesn't have the subtle differences that make the color image "pop" out!

Color is my preference. I am so impressed with all your efforts, by the way. You are an inspiration to me, as a new learner.

The color version fits in with the richness of the shapes, both tending towards celebrating beauty.

I agree with most of the others. Color looks best. Looks like a winner! Good luck!

Thanks Mike. I try to do a tutorial if not every day then every other day even if it is only 15 minutes. I am very serious about learning this craft. It keeps me challenged and the old grey cells firing.

Thank you Frank. I need to do a little more research on abstracts.
