Makes things a lot steadier when I use my left hand as a guide, just my index finger actually. This is a nice way to get the focus on the cars. Added a little Gaussian blur to it too.

I guess I don’t understand what tool you used to achieve what effect.

Ok good tip. I will try I it. Thanks for posting.

Another option is to use a graphics pen (and tablet). Those who use them swear by them. (Those who don’t use them swear at them).

The BW with selective color applied was all the rage a few years back. Today I suggest, it has its place. Not for every image but it is a tool that works well for some images. Personally I like it for this image.

Use Google to find the process for instantiation of the technique.

Using PS Elements, I create a layer copy, convert that to B&W, add some Gaussian blur, then create a layer mask and use that to bring back the color. Select the layer mask, select the brush tool with the mouse and paint with black on the target area to reveal the color from the layer underneath. It’s easy except along the edges. That’s where I use my other hand to help steady the mouse. Requires lots of zooming ins and out and adjusting the size of the brush tool to get into the detail.
