Panasonic/Lumix DMC-GX7 Cursor Buttons

On the back of my DMC-GX7, there are four Cursor Buttons, surrounding the Menu/Set button. The four Cursor Buttons are supposed to serve two purposes. The first purpose is they serve as directional keys, i.e., up, down, left and right, to move the focus point and to navigate through menus. The Cursor Buttons work for those purposes. The second purpose of the Cursor Buttons is to access the following functions (starting from the top button and rotating clockwise): 1) ISO; 2) WB; 3) Drive Mode; and 4) AF Mode. I can't figure out how to get the cursor buttons to work to control the four functions that each of the four buttons are supposed to access. I have tried the 380 page manual, the quick start manual, internet searches...and pulling my hair out, or now what's little left of my hair. Do any of you know how to enable the cursor buttons so I can use them for more than navigational tools and moving my focus point? Thanks much in advance for your help.

I also struggle with this function, on my Olympus you can move the focus point anywhere using these arrows.
I will look forward to the replies as I would like to use my GX7 more often.

The link was a good idea, but the GX7 is different, so it didn't work. However, the link and some internet searches led me to the Custom Menu setting for "Fn Button Set." The problem on the GX7 is that there's no setting for "Cursor Button Lock/Unlock." If there was such a setting, I could assign it to any of the four function buttons on the GX7. Hopefully someone will know the answer to this question on the GX7 specifically. This really awful, and a reflection on Panasonic's cameras, documentation and organization. Yikes!

On my zs100 it's control by menu setting for "direct focus area". On...the buttons move the focus area, Off...they revert to their preassigned functions...

Maybe this will help.

Push Centre button. Go to (3) Custom #9 "Direct Focus Area". ON = cursor buttons will move focus area.
OFF = Function buttons do according to labels. You can still move Focus area using touch screen.

Panasonic's menus are the best there are. If you have any other prob with menus, go to (4) Set up page 4/5 "Reset". Puts everything back to factory settings. I did have a GX7 now have a GX8. Happy shooting. Any other probs and you are welcome to PM me

If you have Direct Focus Area switched ON you can carry out the cursor button functions in Quick Menu.
