Such an iconic radiant smile... gorgeous tousled auburn tresses... rosy red cheeks, no need for blusher here... fabulous wardrobe styling! loving those cute lit' sneakers... this seriously could be an outerwear fashion shot for an L.L. Bean catalog...

That said I believe you were thinking more along the line of a photo-journalistic narrative by adding the two hounds in the frame... albeit I personally find the dogs to be a distraction from this adorable sweet young fashion model with her epic smile... but then again I'm jaded from commercial work and no compelling interest for photo-journalism (virtually little if any recompense in this genre).

Food for thought nanaval... whenever shooting "little people" you might try keeping your lens axis at or below their eye level.... Yes this may be out of your comfort zone to go down on one knee however the results can be and often are dramatic... Below please find an example of wedding rehearsal Reportage Portraiture...

Hope this helps, or maybe is at least food for thought...
I wish you well on your journey nanaval...
Thank you for sharing your capture of such a precious granddaughter...

Thank you very much for your informative reply Thomas, Poppy was thrilled to be taking Woody for a walk and as she turned to me with that smile it was a quick capture or I would have lost the moment... My son and family were down on holiday and Teddy my grandson wanted to take Blue (the other dog in the shot was on his way to me...) This is a picture I took of Poppy at St Ives with a shell she found...

Love the seashell narrative... wonderful story and sparkling eyes...
Delightful isolation of your precious granddaughter...
The emerald green jersey is a perfect compliment for her golden skin tones....
beautifully done...
