Thank you, Mike--nice to see you! I'm looking forward to seeing what I can do with my full-frame and a split ND filter.

Hi Carol--thanks so much! I've been away from photography for a while, so this was the first interesting outing I've had since finishing the construction project. More back roads yet to explore.

After moving to our new home (the construction project that I've been working on the past year), I had been hoping to find some landscapes nearby that could be my 'go to' subjects to photograph. So, we set off one evening after a rain storm passed to get acquainted with our new neighborhood. Roaming the back roads, we stumbled across this barn and I stepped out of the car to grab this shot across the hood of the car with my cell phone. My thought was to just get a feel for the composition, but it turned out to be fairly interesting lighting. I regret that the cell phone couldn't manage the highlights too well, but now I have a destination for sunsets and will be sure to take my D750 with me from now on!

A beautiful pastoral scene, Diane. There's just something about old barns that touches the heart.

Thanks so much! Seeing an old barns brings back the smells of fresh hay, sweet grain with molasses, and horses...and, yes, fresh manure, too, LOL!

It has really nice composition, and the clouds contribute to that. The total package may be difficult to reshoot with your camera, since clouds vary so much from day to day.
