4X5 Nudes

These were taken with a 4X5 pinhole camera--essentially a box that has a pinhole on the front and can hold a 4X5 film holder on the back. I had the film, exposure carefully written down but now I have no idea where I wrote it down. My recollection was that exposure was about 10 to 15 "mississippies". Scanned the negs and adjusted exposure a bit but that (and sporting out some dust) is all. I'm going out to try some with more "primitive" cameras and if any turn out will post some of those. Nothing great but they are just "point, push, and pray".

Some very old (date on the box is 1999) that I found while cleaning out freezer. Brand is "Arista" which I think came from a place called "Photo Warehouse" if my memory serves. Dig around and found 4X5 film holders and more digging turned up a tank. Used Clayton60 film developer (I think). At my age I'm never sure but I think all above is correct. Lots of fun but sure a lot more time than "plink" I have a digital capture.

vertigo, this is just the cats whiskers! This is so absolutely top drawer! Love the plant wreath around the model's head. It feels like a 20th century pinhole. Use of the rock is amazing in inspiration. That old building structure is totally grand as well. You have done some above and beyond images. Probably not sure that this is some important work.

So, you might want to send these images to Eric and Nancy at the Pinhole Resource for inclusion in the permanent collection, they are that good. You have the Pinhole Vision, it is not easy to find people working in pinhole who 'get it'.

Are you aware of Eric Renner and The Pinhole Resource?

Eric and Nancy wrote a book titled The Pinhole Photography, if you look for it be sure to get edition two, it is an up grade with more history and current trends.

Thank-you! I get to the references (although I may already have the book--my library is not well catalogued--who am I kidding it is NOT catalogued.) Once I look at some of these I may be able to focus the memory enough to know that I once knew something about them. But the information much is appreciated. The rocks? just happen to be in my back yard so they get used.

Just do more pinhole fun photos. Perhaps in the future you can also do some Pin Speck images!
