Sorry for the spelling. I worked 14 hrs and was on my way to sleep. The object is the magnification. Maybe someone else can explain it better? Please.

I just can't understand the concept that if the image is the same how the magnification can be different. But then I can't understand all the idiots on the web that say that crop sensor lenses f stops should be multiplied. If you shoot a photo on film or a FF with a 50, and then put a 100mm lens on a crop frame body, and crop the image from the FF to match, the dof appears to be the same..

All I know is if I take a picture with a Dr lense of 300mm And an Fx lense of 300mm the take a picture with a 450mm dx lense The 300mm ff lense is not the same size magnification wise. I hope someone will jump in and help us out.

Corrected, I got the 50 and the 100 in the wrong place in the sentence.

It is not true that you get more reach with a aps-c sensor camera. I have a D7200 and thought that when I first started. I bought a few Fx format lenses on the premise that a 70-300mm would give me the range of 450mm. I had a 55-300mm dx lense also. One day I took a pic with each lense of the same birdhouse in my backyard. In both pics the birdhouse was the same size. With a fx lense on a crop sensor camera you get the field of view of a 450mm lense but not the magnivaction. I learned after buying 3 Fx lenses just to get longer reach. Lol

Your 2 lenses are both 300mm, they will give you the same result. Magnification happens when you print images taken by a full-frame and APS-C at the same size. one will be 300mm the other will be 450mm

A 200mm lens on an APS-C will output the same FOV as a 300mm lens on a full-frame camera.
