When I first looked at this photo that I took of this Dragonfly I was amazed at how the wing attachments so closely resembled a mechanical system rather than an anatomical one. The flight of these insects, when they are feeding, is miraculous. I doubt that mankind could ever create a mechanical device that had the performance of this common bug.

Absolutely right, Ron. My husband says that dragonflies look like they've been assembled in a machine shop..but they're not.
