Raccoon Encounter

I would never get that close to a raccoon, but my ancestors and probably even now, hunted them down in Arkansas for eating or pelts. I have an old list of what hides went for way back then that was in my parents papers and one item I was amazed at is the price paid for a house cat hide was 25 cents.

Raccoons are, indeed, wild animals, though if "adopted" young, they're tame & affectionate. Here's a photo of my wife in a cuddle with "Claudius" maybe 25 years ago.
