Took these photos of a famous steam engine that was in my area around 2009 and I thought you would like to see these photos. Photos were taken along Hwy 13 as the train traveled the Chicago Northwest Line to Shakopee, MN. The engine is coming under the Freeway 494 bridge where l caught him as he was coming under it. Enjoy and please leave your comments.

Very good. Is that a UP Challenger? I bet it got loud under that viaduct!

Yes that is the Challenger. Unfortunately it is now retired. If the UP would get it running again before the 4014 runs out of time, they would make for one hell of a double header shoe.

Nice photos of Union Pacific's Challenger Class #3985. While you have addressed this engine as a "he", all steam locomotives are girls.
