I'm hoping someone can help me here. Not a big deal, and I've searched various forums for an answer, but can't seem to find one.
I shoot fine + RAW with a Fuji X-T2 and Fuji X100F camera. When I import the files into my Pictures folder on Windows 10 Home, the thumbnail for the the RAW file, which Fuji creates with a RAF extension, does NOT show the image. The jpeg image is fine. When I import the RAF file into Luminar 3, I can see it and everything is fine.
However, I've heard some of you saying that you shoot RAW only. If I did that, I couldn't see the RAF images until I imported them into some program, like Lightroom, or in my case Luminar 3.
I'm hoping there's some way I can have the RAF images simply show up in my Pictures folder when I import them from my SD card? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
You will need to find/download/install a CODEC to enable Windows to know and read RAF as a picture. Check with Fuji.
You could do that. Fuji probably offers it for free and it will work well with the RAF files I'm sure... But RAF files only.
Or, spend $10 for Fast Picture Viewer codec which works with every type of RAW file, as well as some others that Windows can't usually display such as Adobe PSD, TIFFs, etc.

Download and install the free Faststone Image Viewer - and use it to browse and manage your files and folders with the raf images (or any other raw files) in it.

Thanks, Gene, I will look into that. I am hearing good things about Fastone on this forum.

It's easy and seems to be updated for almost all newer files. My Sony RX10 IV RAW files were immediately recognized.

Interesting. I’ll definitely look into this. I am reading in a number of places that Capture One does a better job than LR/PS and Luminar in processing Fuji Raw files. Maybe I’ll play around with it for a bit. Thanks.
