Sometime around November, I plan to instruct a church gathering how to do basic posing. This will be so they can create Christmas cards or family photos for gifts.
I would like the have a few biblical or christian based information to add into my teaching session.
This will not be people at an alter or things with a worship theme, just a portrait image of the people, (full length to headshots), which they can use for a later time. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.
The posing portion, I'm fine with. Finding sayings to throw into my speach is what I'm looking to find. Any suggestions?
Start with Gen: 1-1; The trinity, exposure triangle.

My son-in-law would say that instead of "cheese" say "sex" to get a good smile. But I admit, that would not be in good taste. Frankly, I would just have them relax, have fun. Maybe even goofy poses to unwind. Said by an old clergy person and photographer.
I use a little trick so that I don't have any problems with my subjects closing their eyes at the wrong moment.
I have them close their eyes. I double check to make sure I"m ready and then I say on three open them. 1 - 2 - 3 and I take the shot with all eyes open. Works great with large groups

Another thought: Ask, "How would you like to be known to your parents, family, friends, and other people?" That should precipitate some interesting discussions and poses.

One parishioner to another at an orthodox Catholic church gathering, "What does the number have to do with this?"
("six" = in Latin "sex". "sex" = in Latin "sexus". -Vale! )
Ok..what sort of sayings would you be looking for?
Not sure what you are getting at here.
There’s an App called “YouVersion Bible App”
Look for it in the APP store.
I haven’t used it but it says you can take a snapshot of a group of people and it will find a Bible verse that goes with the picture. It might generate some talking points or ideas for photos.
Might be worth a try😊
Whenever a picture taker says “say cheese” is usually reply with Provolone or Muenster.
