I truly envy you on your trip to SF - too bad you don't have more time - years ago I was a member of a very active camera club near SF and we would have 3 or 4 trips to SF a year - best of all was the 'treasure hunts where we had to search out specific photo subjects - they were fun and educational trip.

The treasure hunts sound fun! I'm going to have a full 2 1/2 days but not overwhelming before picking up my Persian princess.

The Cliff House is good, views are spectacular, although it is not inexpensive. You might also consider Louis' Diner for breakfast, it's just up the street (walking distance) and also has fantastic views of the ocean and Sutro baths. I recommend the eggs benedict. I think they are both owned by the same family. As for credence, I live in SF. http://louissf.com/index.html/

Bon Vacances!

We have a sheet of commands in Turkish followed by English,ha! I think we have very doable and relaxing trip to introduce San Francisco. We have decided the day we arrive to do a sunset to dusk shoot of the Palace of Fine Arts that is only .8 miles from the lodge. Stretching our legs after a 12 hour drive is priority! The first full day will be a sunrise shoot at Marin Headlands area and visit Point Bonita Lighthouse. Hike down to Rodeo beach for the dog to swim and play. End the day back at the lodge for wine and cheese. Day 2 is the Japanese Garden at Golden Gate Park and visit everything we can at the Presidio. Then a sunset shot at Baker Beach. We hope day 3 will be a shuttle to the Ferry building and ride a cable car before heading to the airport to pick up the dog from Turkey.

Do not leave anything in view in your car. They have over 30,000 car break-ins a year, and they can solve only about a hundred. Keep your stuff safe.
