I guess I shouldn't have left room for "Interpretation". I sent the camera back with the card inside. When I called to see the status, they said they had no problem removing the card. I did not "Interpret" their answer as being dismissive. I just can't explain it.

I just spoke to the people at Cameta Camera about the trouble I had removing the memory card. They said "It just popped right out". I am posting this because many of you wanted to know what the results were.
I can only say that I have pulled out my share of memory cards and could feel this card come to an abrupt stop as I pulled on it. I cannot explain it and that's the way it was. Do not make me regret posting this note.

I think Cameta confirmed what everyone was telling you. The "Z" has a different mechanism to hold the card than their "D" cousins. We explained what it was and said you could see what was causing it by shining a light and looking into the slot. Cameras don't need to be handled with kid gloves.

That said, if you were uncomfortable with the new design, you are right to move on if you so choose. You will never be convinced that what you had was normal. Having the D850 you sure don't need the Z7. Best of luck!

I was going to use it with the PF lenses I have and have as light a combo as possible.
The card problem turned me off to the camera - I have other bodies (D810 and D850)
to use with the PF lenses - I'll live with the difference in body weight.

Just to correct your note. I wanted the Z and because of this experience I changed my mind; I didn't need a "Good Excuse" to return the camera. To answer the question that you appear to have asked - the camera was not returned for credit.

Well pardon me but it does seem to me that is what you did. And I am not criticizing that. I hope that you are happy now. But if you continue to try to defend this action then it will seem more and more like you are simply a troll or someone looking for attention. Sorry to be harsh but that is how it looks from outside.

No need to reply to this. I am going to unwatch this thread now.

Excellent idea. Everything is over - I too will leave the thread.
