Super pics. I love this area. Is this from the ranch off of Hiway 9 or 24 near Spinney Res.?? If so they have a lot of exotic animals, so used for "paid" hunts by rich out-of-staters. I love this area, near Hartsel. I have a cabin just 5 miles west of FairPlay and often fish the "dream stream" just below Spinney. If you want to get some unique photos of fly fisherman, the river is the place.

One could almost imagine great herds grazing here without the fences and buildings! Magnificent animals against a magnificent backdrop!

Hi Bill, Yes this is the ranch off Hiway 24. We go by it several times in the summer, as we spend most of the summer in Gunnison.
My husband is a fly fisherman, so I have spent many days on the stream with him - so peaceful. The runoff, I'm sure you know was significant this year. The streams are just getting fishable up here - so it's time.
Been quite a summer with all the snow we had last year - made for a spectacular wild flower year.

The old structure and fencing really add character to the landscape and the herd - nicely done!
