I've lived in Connecticut most of my 71 years and until last week was unaware of the Thimble Islands right in my own backyard. 25 islands ( all private except for one) nestled in Stony Creek Harbor. They're all strictly summer homes. There are three different boat tours, all leaving within 20 minutes of one another, and it's well worth the trip.

We’ve lived in CT 31 years and have yet to visit in the Thimble Islands.That trip is on our must do list this summer. Thanks for the great series that serve as a reminder for us.

Just east of New Haven.Off I-95. My late wife went to college with a girl from Stony Creek. We still keep in touch. Was there in June.She owns quite a lot of property still.
This gals family were pioneers in the Creek. Owned much property. Ran the general store for many years.
Tom Thumb from B+B Circus owned an island.
The creek was "discovered" and now is mostly "deep pockets" crowd.
Still charming. Reminds me of the coast of Maine!!
