Engaging shot!

Thanks Mike, I just wish everyone could experience the actual location, rather than my attempts to capture a tiny representation of it.

Absolutely, Norway holds the record for length of coastline ratio to square miles of land.

Sometimes vertical landscapes work well.

Yep, it’s certainly not traditional in any sense, but it kinda works?

I believe the boat shows just how large the cliffs are and how puny man-made things are by comparison.

Yep, even the QM2 was totally dwarfed by the surrounding scenery.

Thanks! Not every shot works as I intended... the happy accidents are sometimes fun though? 😀

Er, yeah, that’s what you call clouds. As Norway’s Fjords meet the Gulf Stream, precipitation (rain, mist, and clouds) is more or less a constant throughout the Summer months.

As mentioned, this was a hand-held long lens shot from the World’s Largest Ocean Liner as it steamed down the Fjord... it was “shoot or shoot not, there is no try.”

Great photo. Shows the immensity of the mountains coming right down to the sea. Which fjord is this? I posted one of Geiranger fjord a few weeks ago and then saw others of the same fjord that had been posted in previous years. I used the search function with the fjord name. It was a magnificent voyage, one I would love to repeat.

This is what I had in mind: I took your photo and applied the Dehaze tool in Lightroom.
