The area where I live in Victoria, Australia is well known for its large brown coal reserves and open cut mining. It also has three power stations whcih use the coal to supply the State's population. In the first picture which is a panoramic view of the area the "lake" is in fact a flooded open cut mine which resulted when a diverted river burst its banks and poured the odd gallon or so into the pit. Last estimate was that damage costs were 109 million. The stacks on the right are of a Power Station approx. 8 Miles from my high vantage point. Not sure if panoramic shots are the way to go because the effect is minimal unless the shot is enlarged. Shot was taken with my Bridge Camera, one frame and handheld. Because it was mid-afternoon I used -67EV and then Auto Correction in PhotoScape. The second picture is just an experiment which I corrected and converted to monochrome.
