EAA AirVenture Oshkosh is an annual gathering of aviation enthusiasts held each summer at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The airshow is sponsored by the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), an international organization based in Oshkosh, and is the largest aviation-related gathering in the world. The show lasts a week, usually beginning on the last Monday in July. During the gathering, the airport's control tower is the busiest in the world.

Vicky Benzing began aerobatic competition in 2005. She got the racing bug in 2010 earning "Rookie of the Year" for both Sport and Jet classes at the National Championship Air Races in Reno, NV.

The Red Bull Aerobatic Helicopter is an MBB BO-105, a multipurpose light-twin-engine German model introduced in 1970 and known for a "hingeless" rotor design that gives it high maneuverability, fast climb performance, and the ability to pull some crazy tricks. This image is the only one of this post using a 2x / 600mm configuration.

Another outstanding post. Amazing captures of those aircraft, given the speeds they were likely traveling at. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Val, SueScott, Frank, Erik, Earnest, JoAnneK, Bruce, Bill, Ken, alx, Jack! The comment about almost eye-level is interesting. I was seated literally on the ground, having not brought a lawn chair to the event. (Something I've now fixed with a subsequent visit to Walmart.) The stunt pilots pass very close to the ground where eye-level is almost literal for those in the front rows.
