We hiked uphill about 1 1/2 miles through beautiful mountain scenery to get to the remains of an old 1800''s lodge for the Butterfield Stagecoach stop, and farther up was a TB sanitarium. There were a lot of pollinators for the desert plants that were blooming. The hike up and back down was not that strenuous, but I was fighting the wind going up. (It was about 25 miles an hour in that valley!) It wasn't that windy farther up the trail.
