What is this phenomenon actually called ? I briefly saw a complete portrait in color and Not A Negative like the one I starred-upon and I have absolutely no explanation for how that occurred........WOW.
And are there any links to this in media or print that further explains this transformation in our mind's interpretations of images as we see gaze upon them ?

You can take a photo of one of your loved ones, and through virtually any photo editing program, turn it into a black and white negative image, put a colored dot on the nose, and voila! you've just created your own such image.
