Reno, Nevada's Hot August Nights Car Show. Part 1
RE
Loc: California
We spent a couple of day's enjoying the many cars that showed up for the show. There are so many different venues that have car show's that it is impossible to see them all in just a couple of days! Fun time, glad we finally able to see it!
this is one of the best car shows on the west coast almost 5000 cars show up each year and it goes on for a week.Every casino has a roped off area to show the cars. very nice pictures keep them coming.

Nice series of photos from the event. Wow, a collision at a Car Show, that is not fun or likely friendly afterwards. At least at the car shows I've been to in CA the drivers seem to be better than everyday car drivers. As they take huge pride in their and others classics. We kind of collectively love these old(er) automobiles.
It is also a great week for tow trucks s these ol gals rev up and over heat, or refuse to start or a 1954 tie rod gets outa shape. or all those wonderful things that can happen to 70 year olds, either steel and rubber or flesh, bone and blood.
Always a great show.
Next, the Balloon races and the UNLIMITED Air Races. With the Nugget Rib fest in between.
A great place to visit and only a short drive to Lake Tahoe.

Did you notice the two cars involved in the mishap both had California license plates? Just sayin'.
I have lived about 30 south of Reno since 2005 but never made it up to Hot August Nights. We have car shows in Carson City just not as elaborate as the Reno show. One of the local shows is held at Mills Park which is within walking distance of my house making is really convenient. Back in the day I had a '55 Chevy similar to the '56 in the first picture and a '64 Chevy like in the second photo. When I had them they were just used cars.
Extremely nice photos. Have been there for Hot August Nights and enjoyed our time there. Every casino has cars they show every year. Just love them and the shows that are put on. Mahalo for sharing and hopefully I'll get back there in the next couple of years.
