Not much time to work with the grizzlies, but the owls and Mountain Goats were easier. The goats were on Barronnette and the owls were up the road from Calcite Springs...courtesy of Ron and Thelma (RRS)!

I took photos of the GHO sitting in the nest before the owlets were out...that has become a popular spot!! BTW, we will be there the week before Memorial Day Weekend again in 2020...are you booking for next year?

There was another nest that came down near the Albright Center and the three owletts put on a pretty good show. Up above the Calcite Spring nest I got some poor shots of a Peregrine Falcon with three chicks on a ledge at 1200mm...SOOC but better than nothing, LOL!
Kathy wants to skip next year. She says the month we spent there this year will hold her for a while. Poor knee cooperation...We think getting there before Memorial Day is a great time to go. We went in June to accommodate five of our grandkids, but you won't catch us there in the summer again. Late September is good as well, but in 2017 we had a few temporary closures in those special places. I think RRS is going in May again next year. They always stay in Gardiner as well.

Peregrine's always look good...these are very nice!!
Well we will miss seeing you but understand...my wife is very understanding of this photo passion although she isn't a photographer. She comes along for the scenery and to get a few books read while I'm out with the cameras.

Who know what the future will provide! My wife is a much better photographer and it is her fault that she got me into it in 2012 while on a Yellowstone trip. It's her fault!

Very nice set. What an awesome place!
Very nice images for sure. What a nice capture of that grizzly. YNP is a special place as you know. How do you like your D500? I’m looking to purchase one in the near future.
