On a subsequent visit to the Living Planet Aquarium in Draper, Utah I first hadn't intended taking a camera, but then wondered about using infrared. I found out that lighting varied from tank to tank, some tanks having no IR in the mix at all, at least none my 720 nanometer converted D90 could record. Other tanks had a little bit of IR and still others had plenty -- the only way to tell was to try it and see.
I also found out that the higher ISOs necessary for most of the tank photos at the Aquarium resulted in quite a bit more noise on the D90 than previous visits with the D700, but that was okay -- kind of like shooting fast B&W film in the old days! This looks a little better on the Download -- slightly darker & more contrast on UHH than on my computer.
I forget the name of this fish . . .
