I dont have alot of cash my cancer eats more than me lol. $60k a month chemo and disability only pays 80% and only sends me $724 a month.. you dont have to be good at math to know I'm broke lol.

the canon eos-1v is listed among the canon dslr's in this summers b+hphoto catalog. the 2 Nikon film slr's are listed among the Nikon dslr's.

laughbrian, may i suggest KEH.com America's largest used camera equipment dealer. They have a sterling reputation, better prices than anyone including ebay, free 6 month warranty and they have a ton of film equipment at low prices. I paid less then 20 bucks for a Nikon n-90x in pristine condition that at one time was 2nd to the f-4 in Nikon's lineup.

NW Airlines was certified to fly the Orient shortly after Eisenhower was elected in '53. Crews began bringing back all sorts of incredible (for the time) cameras and accesories. One of the gee whiz accesories was a .05f lens that was advertised to "produce an image in a dark room". It had a piece of glass, as I recall , near to 3.5, 4" in diameter. Big sucker! Formidable if you dropped it on yer foot!

according to the summer b+h catalog the canon eos-1v film slr is still in production and being sold to compete with the Nikon f-6. nikon also has the fm-10 film slr as an entry level camera. The fm-10 is made in china by cosina and is also marketed under the vivitar and promaster labels.

Stay away from the FM-10. Junk.

I, too, purchased an EOS Elan 7 just prior to digi taking over. Duh. Should have done a little research.

The Canon EOS RT was my very best favorite camera of all time. Loved that camera and got great photos with it. Real time. What you saw was what you got.

I've still got my Nikon FM10, and I feel guilty not using it, now that I'm totally using a Fuji bridge camera w/18x lens and 10MP. My meager budget just can't afford film. The limited 30 - 75? mm lens that comes with it is as sharp a lens as I've used, including the fabled Nikkor 50mm f1.4 lenses of the Nikon F age. If you take care of your equipment, you can get good results, even with an FM10!

Loved my EOS A2/A2e cameras. Almost bought one at a Pawn shop in metro Atlanta with booster for $160! It had the "kit' 28-80 canon zoom but that one I used for my wedding shots. Lovely camera. Now I want a 7D ,but budget won't permit now. I guess I'll settle for my Nikon D5000 til then. But , yes the EOS 1v rocks for film!

Before his (and his wife's) tragic deaths, Galen Rowell often used an FM10 when there was a significant possibility that his F6 could be damaged or when he needed a lighter camera (e.g., when rock climbing, etc.). I've never been able to tell which camera he used.
