Hi, I received my 1.4 extender today and needed to check it out. So far I really like it. I thought little birds would be a good test.
But to the point. These are straight OOC. You can lighten shadows in post but it can be a huge pain to make it look right. Using a flash it is pretty fast and easy. The new cameras have really good TTL. I use it mostly due to the need for quick changes. I used to use a regular hot shoe flash off camera. I have steped up and mainly use a Godox (Flash Point) AD 360 or occasionally an AD400 if I need/want some kind of extra softening. Any way thoughts/comments or a better way are welcome. As always "all contributions are greatfully excepted."

Hi, I received my 1.4 extender today and needed to... (

My lot is on a north facing slope so I get a lot of shadows and shade. I use a Yongnuo yn600ex, sometimes with a better beamer for fill flash a lot.
I have heard good things about the better beamers. It seems like a good idea. I used hot shoe flashes and wasn't unhappy but when the I got 360's started using them. I had 2 granddaughters get married at about the same time and needed something stronger as well as portable. One of those any excuse to upgrade. The 400s were pure GAS.
