Absolute rubbish or a happy accident?

Some years ago I was visiting Petra in Jordan. I was fortunate enough to be able to make a magical night time visit to the city. The "siq", the canyon througth which one has to pass, was illuminated only by candles and then, right at the end it opens out to reveal what is known as "The Treasury". There were hundreds and hundreds of candles in the space in front. The guide suggested that everyone in the group fire off their flashes at the same time so that then it would be possible to take a photo of the facade of "The Treasury". Maybe my timing wasn't the best that night but it didn'tb work for me. However, what I did get was this strange, almost abstract shot at the back of which you can just about discern the columns of the facade.

CANDLES IN FRONT OF "THE TREASURY", PETRA
CANDLES IN FRONT OF "THE TREASURY", PETRA...

AND HERE IT IS BY DAY
AND HERE IT IS BY DAY...

Sorry, rubbish. Been there. Most amazing place. If you haven't been, watch Indiana Jones'3rd of the series.

I think I made it quite clear that I had taken the photos that by implication means that I had been there.

i actually like it, but I am a big fan of abstract and unusual shots. Those who are into accurate reproduction will probably hate it, but i see it as a ghost army in front of an ancient temple.

Thank you Sinatraman. Very different from the only other comment I have received so far:

I wonder how he thought I had taken the photos if I hadn't been there?

I also like the first shot and recognized the place from that movie.

Ease up - he meant it for us who haven't been, not you - at least, that's the way I read it. As a abstract candle-ghost temple shot ? Happy accident. - as a picture of the Treasury ? more like unhappy accident, but still not rubbish. The daylight one has a major flare, but still very nice.

Sorry if you misunderstood me. It was late in the night and I was cutting corners with my comments. You asked if your image is rubbish or a happy accident. My opinion is 'rubbish' to use your own word. I understood that you were there.
I have been there myself and as I said, it is an amazing place. And for people who haven't been or seen it, that Indiana Jones film shows the journey through the valley and the Treasury beautifully.
