I recently happened upon this blue mud dauber trying to pick up a cricket. The wasp finally succeeded but flew away quickly and I didn’t get a clear shot. My first time seeing this type of wasp. Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve, Huntingnton Beach, CA. Using Nikon D500 w/ 80-400 lens.

Great set! The cricket is almost as big as the wasp, and the wasp was able to fly away with it? Wow.
