Epson 1400 ink question

I just printed my first image on a new Epson 1430 and compared it to the same image printed on an HP6500 all in one printer/fax, etc. As I expected, the Epson print was of considerably better quality and definition. However, the colors were off a bit. Specifically, the greens were more brownish than they should have been. Could this be because I used refurbished ink cartridges as opposed to original Epson ink? Is there a concensus on the accuracy of colors on refurbished versus remanufactured cartridges? I could pop out the refurbished and replace them with the Epson ink, but I hate to waste brand new cartridges only to find that the cause is something else.

I had a 1400 and tried using the cheaper inks and found they were very inferior to the real Epson inks. I know the inks are very expensive, BUT.
I now have a 2800 and love it and the inks are far cheaper than the 1400.
Stick with the Epson inks and you'll have less problems.
Just my opinion.

What post processing software are you printing from?

Are you having that software handling the color manaNt or the printer?

Have you gone nine to download the latest rivers?

Are you able to set.your paper profiles?

Color profiles are made for each paper and ink combination. Third party inks can't be counted on to be accurate and/or consistent. I have always used the epson inks in my epson printers. If use still have problems, make sure your printer settings are correct. You want to let the photo software apply color management so make sure that color management is turned off in printer settings.

I use the Epson inks as well on my R3000. Having paid many thousands of dolars on equipment, I'm not going cheap on printing. Makes no sense.
