I draped a white sheet over the fence last night and shined a work lamp on it to attract night insects and this is one of the moths that was attracted to it.
I thought that the eyes were quite unique with their pattern and its antenna reminded me of fern leaves.
The pin is still in the picture so that you can see how I mounted it inside of the ping-pong ball technique that I use for this series of images.

👍 Coincidentally, I am 'up north' right now and did the same with a sheet last night. Took pictures of live moths (and a big beetle) on the sheet. So many that were new to me.
